Colossal wastes of time.

Okay. I was having trouble with youtube the last, oh, three days? It tells me my flash is out of date or I have javascript disabled.
Well, My java is not disabled. So I start with flash. Install it twice. Doesn't work. So all of yesterday I didn't use youtube and after restarting today I try again. It doesn't work so tonight at about... oh I think 2:30, 3:00 I decide it couldn't POSSIBLY take that long to fix.
Several hours, several redownloads of both flash, java, the flash uninstaller, at least one reboot, ANOTHER reinstallation and reading the help information on the problem later... I find In suuuuuper tiny text "If the above does not work try emptying your browser cache and cookies"
I swear, tiniest text EVER, at least when it's taken into account I've been working to fix this for AT LEAST three hours and I was already tired when I STARTED. I almost blew a gasket the moment I read this because I spent a collective of about five hours over three days to fix the trouble and it took ten second to empty the cache.
Oh, and I've had cache related problems on a regular basis so had I seen the "Empty your cache woman!" thing I usually see (Like, on da, half the trouble on there is ficed by emptying your cache) when that's an option, I would have had this over in ten second and would have SOME hope of being up by three PM!

Soooo... anyone else had colossal wastes of time lately? To make me feel less rage over my own time spent doing things like... oh... sleeping.

Now, excuse me while I break in my passwords on sites which will take several times as long to load now.

i had the exact same thing happen to me... except the emptying of the cache doesn't work either and it's been going on for nearly a month... maybe even a little more...
it's been so bad that instead of watching random videos like i did before while wait for someone to post... i've been reading.... a big book that i figured would take me a long time... but at the rate i'm going... who knows.

as for colossal waste of time.... well this mornign i got up, got my brother ready for the bus and what not... i had been informed that he DID have school today even though i knew in the back of my mind that was not possible... so i'm reading as i wait for him to leave on the bus (would have been watching anime but were putting in hardwood floors and the tv in the living room is unplugged and somewhere to keep it from being damaged.) 8:30 rolls around and i am confused.... the bus never takes that long.
pick up the phone "mom, you sure he has school today?" she is silent for a bit, checking somehting.
"oh sorry no he doesn't"
heres me thinking i could have slept for another hour >< curses

it's a holiday for school kids in my schools district ^^ so they get both friday and monday off...
granted they have been adding and taking away holidays all year so i wasn't sure if they had decided to cut the 4 day weekend to 3 days
they didn't lol

here's a MONUMENTAL waste of time i just recently solved.

so I got my laptop just before the begining of school in september and I wanted to put this game on it. I knew I had one of the most powerful and most recent video cards available so i figured it would be no problem.

Wrong-O!

My first attempt at installing it...the game doesn't run. I ask my friend who is a computer genius man and he tells me that since the video card is so new that it needs a patch to run the game. Simple solution, we just download the patch...

Nope!

It turns out the patch hasn't been released yet and so i have to wait a few months to download it. I wait a few months and when the patch is available I try to download it and install the game again. surely it will work now...

Snowball's chance in Hades of that!

so i give up for a while. Every so often i'll try again with the same result. Then last weekend I see something on the site i'm using to download the patch that i need to do it from the DELL website inside of the one i was using. I'm pretty sure i tried that in the past but it had just given up before or something so I go to the site find the patch I need and download it.

AND LO AND BEHOLD THE GAME FINALLY WORKS!!

after months of annoyance I finally got the game to work on my computer.

I have had similar problems with games before LOL.

Ok I just got a satellite for my internet and got rid of my slow dial up. I had the high speed for about 5 hours when it slowed to a crawl I called the company they told me I download to much information in one session. they never bother to mention that there was a limit before I bought the dish.

So i search and after about 20 or so links i found where it said ho much i am allowed to download. anyways after end lees reading I pretty much figured out what i could and couldn't do with it.

well as soon as they turned the high speed back on it slowed again i waited about a day then started calling again so they had me do all sort of stuff manually set my computer dsn numbers delete my temp files and cookies and about 10 others thing and nope still slow. I get transferred around for about 3 to 4 hours on the phone finally the said the would email the satellite company so that they could do some tests. about 2 minutes after that they have my high speed back up. So I my Colossal waste of time would be talking to those techs people for all that time and in the end it wasn't even a problem on my end.
