Disagreeable Rulers

Soon, the path became inclosed. No longer were they walking down a water way, but through a tight cave. Dieter frowned. "Oh, this looks forbodeing." His echo soon came back.
"Arian. trade spots with me or close your eyes if you don't want to be blinded." Reine said, not waiting to turn up the magic light and show them the inside of the small cave. In the shallow place was the feline who had disappeared. Not only was she there, but so was someone else...

Arian closed her eye and braced herself for use of magic. she still shuddered violently when it was unleashed.

A smile flickered on and off on his face as he reached his free hand out to pet the feline, closing his eye again. "They'll be here soon..." He listened to the echoing of their voices and footsteps, picking up their scent idly.

He grunted as the light shone on his face, clenching his eyes closed tighter. "A few days without light and suddenly it's blinding..." He growled under his breath, straining to look at who was there.

Anca looked to Arian and meowed, for the moment no words reached her, but the message was clear. 'he needs help.'
Reine let out a loud 'ooooh.' She had stood on her tip toes and looked over Arian. "If she weren't a cat that would be a scandal!"
Yosette resisted the urge to snip at her, instead turning her face to glare at Dieter. The poor boy was having a hard time not bumping into her. He was still just outside of the 'cave' part and was a great deal too close to the water for his liking.

Arian slowly walked over to Anca and the man. "what kind of help?"

The cat looked a little annoied for a moment, more at some circumstance as opposed to her question. She started to paw at some of the man's pooling blood, meowing as she did so.

Arian nodded and reached into her bag. pulling out a vile that only had a little bit of liquid still inside. "i hope this is enough..." she turned to the man. "wheres your injury?"

"Left leg," He spoke quickly, moving his hand away to reveal the wound. He looked at some of the blood now fresh on the hand that had been covering it before the hand dropped down at his side. The wound seemed like he had almost been stabbed in the leg by a dagger. He opened his eyes slightly against the light, looking at the vial and its contents...curious, but at the same time wary. He was in no situation to be taken advantage of by some foul liquid that would enter his blood stream as a poison and kill him...but he was also in no situation to protest - if they didn't help him he'd likely die eventually anyways...even if it was a poison, he'd prefer that to wasting away here over a period of days.

Arian grabbed a small cloth from her bag, it would just barely cover the wound. "this will sting a little..." she took the liquid and splashed it on the wound and then the remainder on the cloth. she quickly began wrapping the wound hoping that it would do the trick if only for a temporary solution.

He barely noticed a ghost of a sting, as his leg hadn't been moved since he had collapsed here and been found by Anca, and it was quite numb by that time. He watched her wrapping it, nodding silently as he closed his eyes again. "Th...thanks..." He seemed to have trouble saying it, but it got out.

"Dieter..." Arian started. "think you can carry him back?"

meanwhile back in the garden, Ulick was contemplating strategies to deal with the elusive raiders that plagued the kingdom. It seemed the opnly thing to do while keeping Princess Roeta occupied. at last he spoke "the raiders are clearly experts at avoiding open battle, my suggestion for dealing with them would have to be fighting them in the wilderness with skirmishers. By sending small, well armed groups we may be able to flush the raiders out of hiding or drive them off, especially if we send expert trackers with each group."

Dieter paused then nodded. "If we can trade places without falling into the water, then yeah."

Roeta paused a moment. "Hunting them would be more efficient than waiting for them to come to us in order for us to trap them. A mage in each party may be helpful too. A healer or a balance battle mage." She was obviously thinking about who would be in what party already.

Arian did her best to trade places with Dieter, she didn't get why he was so worried about the water. "we better hurry... that stuff will ony disinfect and stop the bleeding a little... we done have much time...

Reine had given him a hard time. but eventually let him through.
Dieter's problem was remembering that which happened the last time. Yes, the water was higher and faster before, but that didn't stop him from not wanting to deal with it. He moved in and positioned the man in his grasp. It would ne an awkward trip, but he'd be able to do it.
Once the man she had been guarding was 'safely' with dieter, Anca took her usuao place on Arian's shoulder.
