"Her family is insistant. She's the oldest and is to inherit. Also, her family are donators to our temple for hundreds of years. We feel we owe them in reclaiming their wayward daughter." The woman said, giving reine an exasperated look.

"I'm staying with Arian, and Dieter, and the rest. I consider them friends and I can practice my magic!" Reine said huffily.

Dieter was making hiw way towards them, ready to move between the girls and the priestess.

Dieter gave arian a funny look. What was going on?
"Now, priestess," Reine said, giving her a pointed look, "I'm staying here with my friends weather you and your penis-fearing goddess like it or not. I'm not going back to a place that won't allow me to use my magic. I'll sooner burn it down with all the power in me than do that."
The priestess looked insulted, as one normally would when a chaste goddess was mentioned in the same sentance with a certain piece of male-exclusive anatomy, and was rapdily getting angrier. "Miss Avial, you're coming with m-"
"No, I'm not. Go away. Bug some other poor soul. and while you're at it go shove your ideals up your ass, along with your goddess' holy book. After all, I'm quite sure that's where your head is." Reine had put it in her head that simple, crude insults would be more than enough here. And she was right.
The mage was furious! "So, you want to stay with your friends then? I'll make sure you can't leave them."
Reine blinked, "Oh... sorry guys. Didn't think she'd bring others in on it."
"What do you me-" Dieter didn't get to finish as it felt like his heart was being ripped out, pierced by something, then placed back into his chest, the binding still there.

Arian let out a cry of pain was well as she clutched her chest. "what..." she was struggling to keep a straight train of thought. "did you do to us..."

Reine promptly dropped to the ground, whimpering in pain that after what felt like years faded away.
The mage had left... It must have been five minutes, no more, no less. Dieter took a deep breath. "Reine, what the hell was that?"

The spiders had dispersed but one was still watching the three victims while many more followed the angry priestess.

I think we'll take our chances with her, Del.
There was only silent agreement.

Arian looked up. "i'm going after that bitch..." she tried to walk away.

At about three feet from the rest of them, she, and the other two would begin to feel that pain again. It was like there were strings attached to their life force that as she got further it got more uncomfortable... then down right excruciating.

Arian fell to her knees panting. "what the hell is going on..." instinct forced her to take move back and gain a little relief. "what did she do to us?"

The priested was, by now, nearly outside. She was in a fit of anger still.
