Katzen hummed as they escaped from the front of the school. She did NOT like leaving school before it was over! "Uhg, I feel dirty.... That likely says a lot about me, huh?" She muttered.

There was an sudden crash and an explosion of debris as a monster that looked like it was part tree burst forth from the ground of a garden shed not far from the school.

there was a reason for the saying 'be careful what you wish for'.

(the monster is made of petrified wood. just though i'd explain so it doesn't look like I'm deviating from the stone theme.)

Katzen just stared blankly. "Oh, wow."

(I'd planned on doing it after a reaction from rai, but this works too. I have something planne din the future, but I need more time to think of it, lest it turns into the 'sentient story' arc Ite style.)

while still in their class Gemma and Peter looked at each other at the tell tale sound of monster attacks. Peter muttered "As if I didn't have enough reason to want to be out of math."

Dunstan had lagged behind his classmates that were heading back to class unsupervised. Then the sudden headache hit and he pressed against a wall to keep from collapsing. He held his hands to his temples as he felt a conflict in his mind, an battle of light and shadow that was mirrored in the diamond on his pendant. Finally there was a brief flash.

Katzen sighed and transformed. "I didn't know it would work. Honest!" the girl said, summoning forth her blade.

As they neared the boy's restroom on the way to the 'nurse's office' Dieter shot off towards them.
Liz jumped. "He was awake?!"

The monster was advancing on a nearby garden, lauching rootlike tendrils into the soil. within moment's it began draining the life from the area turning the plant life and the soil around it into stone. It seemed to be targeting plants with a vengence; everything else was just in the way.

If one didn't know better one would say it was jealous of the things growing around it.

(heh me and my quirky monsters.)

Arian also snuck out of class and made her way towards the monster... not wanting to but feeling like she had to.
Rai stood in the light and started to gather it, the beads sparkling gently.

Katzen rushed in a bit, trying to stay a decent distance away from the creature. She didn't want to be turned to stone (or worse) so she calculated the closest she could get without being in danger. "Peridot slash!" She yelled, setting off the attack.

Rai let loose her attack, keeping her distance as she couldn't move very fast.

The monster bellowed in pain, noticing for the first time the annoy flesh-creatures that were pestering it. Without uprooting itself from the ground it raised a treelike appendage and swiped at Katzen, who was closest. Thorns seemed to sprout from the limb mid-swing and quickly shot off in a hail of destructive projectiles.

All the while it continued to drain the life from the earth beneath. It seemed to be growing ever so slightly as each moment passed.

Katzen let out a yelp and ran backwards to escape the brunt of the attack, but soon found herself hit by the projectiles one after another. "AAH! That freaking stings!" she shauted, ignoring any other sort of pain that would come from them.
