Plot- Planned, I allow side quests as long as they don't interfere with the main plot line.
Character limit- You may have as many characters as you can handle at one time. However, all characters MUST be from a fairytale listed on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fairy_tales Exceptions are for things such as ballets with fairytale aspects to them. ( La Sylphide for example )
Setting: The land of fairytales, simply enough
Rating: I'd like to keep it T for the most part, I'm willing to let it take it's course to M if that's where it goes.
Post type: Please write in a 'story' manner. I won't get mad if I see "*grins*" (despite finding it HORRIBLY annoying in role plays. ) but I would like to keep it like a story.

EDIT:I am allowing original fairytales into the story. However, no characters from original fairytales are allowed to travel more than one story other than their own with the group. They are only allowed to be entered outside of their story in order to progress the plot.
There are rules to the original fairytales.
First, you must post the untwisted tale in the fairytale RP thread in the RP discussion board before it begins. Second it must be an obvious fairytale. If it's just a case of boy slays dragon without any fairytale elements then it will be rejected. Last, give a lil bit of fair warning to us in this thread. ;D Thanks!

Rules:
1.) As Rai says, "You are not all powerful, so please don't act like you are."
2.) Be a little realistic, no one likes a marry sue, unless they die at the hands of a comrade that just gets fed up.
3.) Don’t try to butcher the plot. Side quests are welcome, but don't try to take the primary plot into na na land.
4.) Do not control other’s characters! I will not tolerate this and you will be ignored.
5.) Have fun, it’s the reason you’re here.
6.) Please, try to include everyone.
7.) Try to give people time to post, three pages of just two people is fine in most RPs but this plot will need all of it's characters. ~_^

Taken characters:
The little sea maiden - Rai
The woodsman from little red riding hood. - Kat
The girl in the red shoes (The red shoes. The Grimm version calls her Karen, but I'm almost positive there's another version that does not name her. And I hate that name and all but one awesome spelling of it.) - Kat
Prince charming (Sleeping beauty ) - Kat
Sleeping Beauty (Sleeping beauty ) - Kat
The Big Bad Wolf (Little Red Riding Hood) - juu
The Cheshire Cat (Alice's Adventures in Wonderland)- juu
Captain Hook (Peter Pan)- juu
Pinnoccio ( Yeah, I fail at the spelling ) - Juu
Sylph ( La Sylphide) -Rai
Jack from (Jack and the bean stalk) - Just498
Salt, pepper, and mustard (From The Three dogs) - Stavvy
Virgilus (From The Three dogs) - Stavvy
Koschei the Deathless (from "The Death of Koschei the Deathless" or "Marya Morevna")
___

Characters currently in use:
Rowena (redshoes), the sea maiden, The cheshire cat, Jack (Jack & the beanstalk), salt, pepper, mustard, Virgilus.

________

Once upon a time, there was a land where anything could happen and often it did. Cats wore boots and hats and caps, princesses fell into slumbers that only kisses could cure, and young men climbed beanstalks to fight with giants for golden eggs and singing harps.
But one day, something went awry. The cats who wore boots stopped, the princesses were never woken up and the young men stopped daring the climb.
Slowly, this land began to degrade, and with it the minds of many of it's inhabitants. Some went mad. Some became aware of what their fate was. Others just up and left their tales, refusing to be a part of something they did not want to begin to start with!
All across this land characters rose up!
[i]"I do not wish to die!"

"I do not wish to kill!"
"I do not wish to love!"
One voice spoke above all the rest, a voice full of power, a voice from the dark.
Better to be consumed, than to be controlled.

Act I: The house of sweets.

Once upon a time there was a girl named Rowena. Rowena was an orphan. She was adopted by a rich old woman upon the death of her mother.
Rowena grew up vain and spoilt.
One day, the girl bought a pair of red shoes. She wore them everywhere. To school, to dinner and to church. She did nothing but stare at the shoes, ignoring all else.
Then came a time when the old lady was ill and near to death. While Rowena cared for the woman she had planned to go to a dance.
For hours she sat beside the bed of her adoptive mother, time seeming to move at a snail's pace. She occasionally glanced to her red shoes that rested beside the door, thinking of the time she could be having if she just put them on and went to the dance...
'What harm could it do?' she thought, standing from her post and slipping the shoes on before heading to the dance.
Oh how she danced that night! She felt as though her dancing was enchanted! When the dance was finished she danced her way back home, not wanting to stop.
However, her feet did not take her home. She danced and dance, over hill and through valley, she just could not stop! She danced for days on end, through rain and searing sun even! Just when she felt as if she could take it no more, as she knew she would die dancing, she danced into a town. The executioner caught her.
"Cut them off! Cut them off! I can take it no longer!" She cried.
And then the executioner obliged her, taking her legs in one fell swoop, them and the shoes hopping up and dancing off without the girl.
He gave her wooden legs and crutches, so that she could walk.
One would think that the story would end here, or that it would take a sudden turn for the good or ill. It did not.
One night she looked up into the sky, lamenting her pain and that she did not do what was right when a chill ran up her spine and she suddenly knew her ill escaped fate. She was meant to die dancing. This was no all she knew now, without any warning or cause.
She knew she was little more than a character in a story. Nothing more, in fact. She knew what she was supposed to do now, she was supposed to head to the church the next day, be turned away by her detached legs and the shoes connected to them. She was supposed to do this thrice more until she just stayed home, weeping! Her death and ascention to heaven soon to follow. She knew that her story had two paths, each ending in death!
"I do not want this." She said, standing, her balance poor even with help of crutches. "I do not want this!" She screamed.
A voice hissed in her ear and she knew something more, something not dictated by the whims of a writer. She knew she could escape.

And so she did, into the forest for what seemed like an eternity stumbling across a trail of breadcrumbs slowly being eaten up by crows...

Once upon a time there was a boy named Virgilus, the child of a Roman knight and his wife. when the knight died, Virgilus's mother sent him to university to protect him from his father's family who would rob and exploit the helpless wife and child. One holiday Virgilus was walking when he came across an Evil spirit, trapped in a hole. The spirit offered him magical books of great power if he would set it free. Virgil agreed to free the spirit but only if it gave him the books and the knowledge to use them. When the spirit was freed it grew to enormous size. Virgilus said, "I cannot believe that you came out of that tiny hole." The spirit went back into the hole to prove that it had indeed been in there, and Virgilus imprisoned it once more.
Time passed and Virgilus studied the tomes of magic, becoming a wise and powerful sorcerer. One day his mother sent for him. She was ill and could no longer look after their affairs. Virgilus returned home, much to the displeasure of his relatives who could no longer rob and exploit him. However, they had connections to the Emperor and arranged it so they could act against Virgilus. When his enemies attacked Virgilus drove them off with his magic. Soon the Emperor himself came, bringing with him another powerful magician. It was a hard fight but Virgilus reached the emperor and told him he would stop fighting if he was given justice. The Emperor agreed.
Virgilus had many more adventures, using his magic to protect Rome or punish those who wronged him. He even built a wonderful city for his bride.
But one day he left the wonderful city he had built. Knowledge had come to him that he was a figure of myth and legend, more a being of fiction than reality. This did not bother him much but he recognized that this knowledge was not his alone. He sensed that there was chaos on the horizon and knew he must act. Through his magic Virgilus transported himself to a place where something vital was about to happen. He appeared outside of a forest, and he knew this was where he needed to go.

As he entered the forest, three white birds watched him from the sky. They landed and changed into three black dogs. They had a story of their own to tell...

Once upon a time, there was a cat. Well, he wasn't exactly an ordinary cat, as he wasn't a pure cat all the time. Only when he chose to be. But, that's getting off topic.

Once upon a time, there was a cat. No one knew where it had come from, but it spent many of its years in the possession of a Duchess, though occasionally only part of it's body stayed with her (it's head most particularly being the part that wandered off on its own most often). He was quite often the bane of everyone else's existence - there to cause trouble and confusion. One particular girl, by the name of Alice, had come upon him one day in desperation, unsure of which way to go. He knew what he had to do. He was supposed to tell her in which direction the March Hare lived, and in which direction the Mad Hatter lived. Now, he did no such thing...always the rebel against his inner instinct, he pointed in a separate direction, telling her it would help her out of Wonderland forever.

No one had been able to find her since.

He found quite the amusement out of her disappearance. Everyone else in Wonderland was confused - they had the strangest feeling they were missing someone they should have met, but couldn't name. Everything was a mess - more than usual. In the confusion, the quiet little Dormouse had wandered upon this Cat when he was in a particularly non-cat mood.

He rested sprawled out on his (very human) stomach, tail waving in the air as a paw idly drew circles in the lake he was laying near. The scurrying feet of the Dormouse alerted him, (remarkably cat-like) ears perked up as he heard the mouse coming. It came into his sight with such a look of pure hopelessness in his eyes, so unsure of where to go. The very fabric of existence was falling apart on them. And so it came to be that he ran right into the Cat's waiting paw, and after being knocked unconscious by an unceremonious smashing on the ground, he was placed in a tea cup. He was covered by absinthe, and drunk down with the liquid. Oh, he had caused so much chaos here by going against his intuition...He was part of a story, afterall, and had quite interrupted his part.

Best leave, then. Slowly, starting from his feet, he began to fade, leaving behind just that one grin, lingering, and he was whisked away from Wonderland.

He found himself in that very same wood, drawn to it as if it called to him. The Cheshire Cat, for that was what he was called, sat in a tree, still quite too human to be called a Cat.

And so his story had begun to unroll...

Once upon a time there was a girl who dreamed of nothing more then to escape the prison that was her home. Sometimes being a underwater princess who can spend all day playing and not worry about a shred of responsibility isn't good enough. This was all due to her five older sisters who were allowed to go view the world beyond the sea, they told such wonderful tales that she just absolutely needed to get out.

When the girl was of age to go visit the world above she came across a ship that carried possibly the most beautiful human she had ever seen, even if he was also the first. The ship was hit by a violent storm and the human nearly died but the foolish little princess decided it was a good idea to safe the humans. she brought him to shore and left before he woke up.

Now her mind was made up, she just had to get to the surface and find that human again. She had decided she would marry him and then started to fantasize about the wedding like most foolish children do.

She heard rumors of a Sea witch that could do anything, but always for a great price. After the visit she agreed to the terms and was granted legs, and imagine all it cost her was the ability to speak and a little pain when she walked. There was some bit about having to be the one who marries the prince because if she failed something would happen but she didn't care because she knew that she wouldn't fail. Besides listening to details never helped anyone out of sticky situations.

She made her way to the surface and started to wonder around, but something was odd, now that she could walk she had absolutely no desire to see the hansom human. Instead she went in the opposite direction in hopes of finding some suitable clothes.

The three Black Dogs weaved their way through the forest with ease. they were no ordinary Dogs and each was different from the other two. The youngest of the three was a Black Labrador Retriever named Salt. Salt could fetch food on command from anywhere. Behind Salt loped a Black German Shepard name Pepper, who could tear any foe to pieces. Finally behind Pepper came the biggest and oldest of the three, A Rottweiler named Mustard. Mustard could bite through anything, even iron or steel with his powerful jaws.

Once a mysterious man had traded these dogs to a shepard boy for his sheep after he had left home to seek his fortune. With these dogs he had slain a dragon and rescued a princess. The Dogs had saved the boy when he had returned to the kingdom to the kingdom to claim his bride only to be thrown in prison due to the deception of another. Once the boy had married the princess the Dogs had stayed to make sure he had remembered his sister whom he had left behind. Then they had left in the form of white birds.

But the Dogs knew there work was not done. They too had felt that something was wrong and that the chaos had been growing so they had come here to protect the happy ending of others.

Salt sniffed the air then the others did the same. They split up into different directions.

Mustard ran towards the poor girl on crutches. Salt to the girl in dire need of clothes. And Pepper ran to bark at a certain Cat up a tree.

Elsewhere Virgilus smiled. He knew they were here, those helpful dogs. It would be good to see them again.

The Cat looked down, still quite human, at Pepper barking at him, and waved one of his paws at the dog. "Shoo. I'm in no mood for you today, doggie." His tail wagged behind him in the air as he glared at the dog. "Go bark up some other tree before you get yourself hurt," He snapped before idly looking back at the paw not waving the dog away. A gentle sensation came from the tree, and he looked upwards at the significantly thicker branch above him. The free paw held on to it just before...

SNAP!

The branch he was sitting on snapped and fell to the ground, though Chesh did not go with it, his paw digging into the branch above as he swung himself up, a smug grin on his face as he was even higher up now, laughing at the Dog.

Rowena thought the trail strange and she tried to follow it, her movements jerky, her body weary. She was so tired that she had not yet noticed the approach of the dog over her own 'thunk thunk' movements, the sound coming from the crutches.
Aside from her lack of legs and the worn look on her face, Rowena was a pretty girl, even if it was in the 'avarage way'. Gold-blonde hair to her upper arm --- unruly at the moment --- and eyes of blue that were darkened by the knowledge given to her. Her porcelein skin was smudged with dirt, her knee length and plain dress in much the same shape with a few twigs stuck in it.
As she moved the birds did not, far more interested in the bread crumbs - almost as though something compelled them to gobble them all up - than they were a girl. She contenued, fighting to get through the birds without harming them.
It took just one squawk and she was face down on the ground, her crutches having slipped.

The girl looked at the dog and tried to move away, she had never seen such a creature and it frightened her. She would have called out for help if she had not made that oh so clever pact with the witch. she held out a hand as if to say stay back but it was place in a position perfect for petting.

Mustard stopped beside the fallen girl. The huge dog gently nuzzled the girl with his massive head. He stood ready to support the fallen girl when she got up. Had she still been standing Mustard would have been a little over waist height.

Salt was an easily excitable with none of the patience or self control the other dogs usually showed. He walked up to the frighten girl and shoved his head under her hand panting happily.

Pepper, the oh so proud dog, was being driven into a frenzy by the Cat's taunts. He would have torn the Cat apart had the Cat been within his reach but he could not fell the tree in the way Mustard could have. Eventually he stopped barking and sat, glaring at the Cat with a low growl as if to say, "You win this round but this is not over."

The girl jumped back at first but then she went and pet the dog, it was soft and warm and she liked her. She had fair skin but it was easy to tell that she would tan in an instant if given the chance. her hair went to the middle of her back it was strawberry blond and had random pieces of the sea still in it. she just sat there petting the dog thinking about how chilly it was getting as the wind hit her naked body.

Salt saw that the girl was cold. Although he loathed to leave the petting he knew what he needed to do. Salt barked and ran off returning about a minute later with a basket containing food and clothing in his mouth. He put down the basket and sat waiting.

They didn't call him a retriever for nothing.

At first rowena was afraid. The dog was half her size, at least! However, when it didn't growl or bite her she calmed down. She tested to see if the dog would get angry, when it did not, she got to her knees, looking back to make sure that her wooden legs did not come off in the fall. She then looked back to the dog, eventually deciding to pet it,

The girl looked at the basket and picked up some of the clothing, she tried to put it on and at first just got it all mixed up. with some time she enventually did get it all right.
then she looked to the food and looked at something that had a hard brown shell. she broke it open and it revealed this white fluffy. she was hesitant to try it but after a bite she realized this was very good.
She grabbed the basket and followed the dog figuring it would lead her somewhere good she was confused about why it walked on four legs instead of 2.

Mustard moved closer to Rowena, and gently nuzzled her again, trying to get her to try and stand.

Salt eagerly led the girl to the forest following the scents of the other dogs, He soon came across the what was left of the bread crumb trail. He barked and chased the crows, which simply flew away until Salt moved on and returned to their feasting.

Pepper was still staring up at the Cat when Virgilus found him. the sorcerer said, "Typical Pepper, always so focused on your enemies." And patted the dog's head. Pepper turned away from the Cat for a moment to bark a greeting then went back to staring at his feline nemisis.

Virgilus followed the dog's gaze and said, "and what do we have here?"

Once upon a time there lived a boy named Jack who lived with his widowed mother. They were very poor family and Jacks ignorance didn't help matters any he alwalys seemed to be makeing foolish deal with the town pedelers.

Jack awoke feeling tired. Not a sleepy tired mind you but tired of the way his life was going. He had been fooled buy every merchant in town. He was just tired of being a fool.
His mother soon called him down for breakfast when he arrived the was no food and his mother was weeping. She told the boy that they where had no food or money. She then told him he must sell the cow. So jack sat out on to sell the beast.

While going to the bucthers to sell his cow he ran apon a stange man who offered him to trade Jack's cow for magic beans. Jack didn't feel right about this deal an told the man no. The man had a look of shock on his face. "B..b.u.b.u.but you must trade" the man stamered. "No I really don't want them" jack said trying to avoid the man. "NO! Listen to me you must trade me." the man exclamied. "No!" Jack yelled thinking that the man was insane. The man then did something unexpected and knocked jack down with a kick to the legs. While jack was trying to get back up the man had takin his cow and was already at the other end of the market."You will thank me for this later boy just rember follow the story." The man said as he threw the pouch of magic beans to to Jack. Jack with his leg hurt could not follow the man so he took the bean and head back home.

'Mother will understand that I was mugged.' he thought to him self. When he arrived back at the house his mother was anything but understanding. She yelled at him and threw the beans out of the window. After being sent to bed with out super which he didn't complain about because the had no food to eat any way he began to stare at the night time sky.To his amazement there was a large bean stalk growing in his back yard.
