Suggested Rule |
|
If it is seen fit by the administration I'd suggest that a minor addition be made to the rules of the board in regard to "necroing" as it is called. Basically necroing is the act of posting in a topic or thread that is not of an ongoing nature that has been inactive for over a month, the bigger a site is the more common this sort of thing becomes, so I'd advise spelling such a thing out now rather then later.
Thank you for your time! ^_^!

sure i'll add it, can you describe in detail what it is and why it should not be allowed (i just woke up so i'm probably not getting the 100% full understanding.)
thank you for the suggestion ^^

It's probably my fault <..>;;;.
Basically, necroing is taking a thread thats been inactive for a long period of time and posting in it. Though necroing can show enthusiasm, it blatantly tie's up the systems with unnecessary difficulties. For example, if I were to post in the "I'm having A-" thread now. I would very much like to congratulate the member who is going to have a little boy with her soon, that is most true, but at the same time bringing up a thread that is over a month or so old isn't the best way to do it, at this time it would probably best to pm the person and congratulate them.
In closing, this is pretty much just something I've gotten yelled at for doing on other forum's >.>;;; So it kinda rang out in my head when I didn't see a rule associated with it <.<;;;. Either way, I pray you enjoy your day and that it proves profitable to you! ^_^!!!

The problem with that is we don't have many repeat threads. I can name a hand full of RP threads that have been inactive and FWOOSH suddenly blew up again. There's also the number of discussion threads that have that happen to them. I'm not sure we have a single board with a second page of threads!
When we get bigger I think that would be a good idea, but right now it'll cause a mass of repeat threads which is just not practical for our size.

Well those I agree with. But stuff like the lit discussion threads and the threads in the fashion section may pop back up at any time.
Especially since I have new links for the latter that I need to combind together.
